Wonderful Weekend in Sonoma

We traveled to Sonoma for a long wedding weekend (5 days) and rather than staying in a hotel with little privacy and few amenities, we opted to find a house to rent. We were very lucky to find this home on VRBO, which we affectionately referred to as "our Compound" all weekend. There were 5 adults, and we were all amazed by the condition, layout and amount of space. Others who were in town for the wedding were very jealous to see where we were staying with our pool, full kitchen, living, dining, and many bedrooms... not to mention the guest house. The house was close enough to town that we didn't feel isolated, yet far enough that we could take a mile walk to get lunch in the town square. During our stay, we had the most amazing weather (9/28-10/2) and we were able to partake in many activities... which for us was mostly visiting vineyards and wineries! I would highly recommend this home to anyone who is going to Sonoma for more than two days and appreciates more privacy than what is offered by a hotel.
Perfect

This was our first time in a Sonoma VRBO and we could not have been happier. Property was clean, spacious and perfectly suited for our group of 6 adults. The home and cottage provided plenty of space for us to spread out, yet congregate for meals and conversation. The outdoor area is very nice and the wildlife was abundant. Everything was very clean and well appointed. The only thing I would've changed is what time the neighbor's rooster got up each morning.... I would highly recommend this to anyone and hopefully we'll be back next year.
This house has everything!

I rented this house with two other couples who i had never previously met. We were there for a wedding and looking for housing options other than over priced, tiny hotel rooms. This was the perfect place. The bedrooms were large and spacious so we were not stacked on top of each other. The three baths meant we didn't have to share facilities either! The house is set up perfectly for entertaining and getting to know people. The well stocked kitched flows right into the living room so everyone can hang out together. There are multiple outside seating areas and the pool is amazing on a hot day. We didn't even have time to use the karaoke studio. The house is only a couple minutes from town and easy to walk to. It's near wineries and everything Sonoma has to offer. We all wish our stay could have been longer. If i ever have the chance to return to Sonoma, i will check for this house again!
Perfect property for a relaxing retreat!

The property was the perfect vacation rental for our 4 days in Sonoma - I only wish we could have stayed longer. We were in Sonoma for a friend's wedding and thus had many planned activities. The villa served as a great home-base for all our wedding weekend activities. It was an quick drive to Sonoma Square and to many of the Sonoma wineries. The house has an open floor plan yet private (and quiet) bedrooms which is great for families and friends. The beds are comfy and the linens luxurious. There is a Whole Foods in Sonoma so we were able to stock up on provisions for our stay. I would definitely recommend this property to others and we are looking forward to planning a return trip!
Absolutely Beautiful & Relaxing!

At the risk of encouraging others to book this place & it becoming popular, thus decreasing it's availability for my hoped, yearly girls' weekend, I have to give this place the GREAT REVIEW it deserves!!! I went there, with 6 other women, for our yearly girls' weekend; which we've been doing for the last 9 years. The photos on the website, really do not do this place justice. It really is a vacation "compound" with it's spaciousness, landscape & besides the main house: the pool, cottage & fun studio. The main house has rustic Italian decor and is very spacious. It's eating and lounging area feels very bright and open with large windows, facing the center of the property. The kitchenware & glassware are nice-not what you'd expect in a vacation rental. The cottage is roomy & very comfortable, with it's own mini-living room & kitchen. The play studio is big & was a lot of fun with the big, leather lounge chairs & karaoke machine. The pool, where we lounged all day Saturday, was great & there were both lounge chairs & a nice grassy area, where we laid-out, when not in the pool. The house is in a very beautiful area and when we took walks in the morning, there were many people doing the same, or bike riding, and the locals seemed friendly. The Plaza, which has everything you may want to do, is a 10 minute drive away. The property was so wonderful, we ended up spending most of our weekend there-ordering pizza delivered & barbequeing, rather than going out for dinner! I couldn't say enough good things about this place!

The listing discription didn't do justice to the remarkable ambience of this delightful villa. It was just far enough away from the activities of Sonoma and close enough for easy access. The main house, guest house and garden were extremely well maintained. The kitchen was well equiped, the media and IT equipment was cutting edge, and the pool area was well set up for relaxation. With excellent cross ventilation the house was always cool and pleasant. I would not only recommend this property to a friend or relative but have every intention to revisiting it next time I'm in California. We took a cooking class at Ramekins that was great fun. Visited a number of wineries, including Etoile at Chandon for a most memorable dinner.

We had a wonderful trip to sonoma and our accomodations played a big part. This wonderful compound offered everything a discerning traveler could want: clean, spacious, light-filled, big kitchen, wonderful outdoor deck and patio perfect for dining, expansive pool area, perfectly maintained lawn and garden, and not to mention the extra space in the artist studio. Even though our accomodations were so comfortable and it was tempting to lounge at the house, we were also able to enjoy everything Sonoma and Napa had to offer. The house was the perfect location for a quick bike ride to the Sonoma Square, farmer's markets and grocery stores, very close to wineries and the main road up to sonoma or over to Napa. We loved every minute and hope to visit again next summer!
Awesome property!

The pool was a great way to finish up a day of biking and wine tasting. The bike trail was right out the front door so it was an easy trip into town for breakfast every morning. Great place for kids to play in the artist's studio. Plan on renting it again! Loved it.

My family had such a great time in this home! When planning this Sonoma vacation, little did I know that this home would become the focal point of our Sonoma experience! All of my research and planning about this place became a reality. From the curb, this home doesn't look like much. (I like it that way) What awaits you inside is a hidden gem of a property. We prepared breakfast and dinners in the wonderfully equipped kitchen each day and only ate out for lunch while exploring the vineyards and attactions in the area. The location is excellent for biking to just about anywhere in Sonoma Town. We rented bikes from Goodtime Touring Company and they delivered all the bikes to the house. We rode all over to Vela Cheese, Ravenswood, Sebastiani, Sonoma Square, Maxwell Farms park and it's really easy to get to since the home is right on the Sonoma Bike Trail. The area is really nice and quiet at night and perfect for lounging around sharing stories of the day. The photos can't possibly capture the charm this home contains, from it's rustic hardwood floors to the hand carved looking doors and moldings, the wonderful large kitchen with concrete counter tops, the large family dining table, the pool deck and the cute artists studio, and the lovely cottage. Now when I look at the photos on this site, it brings such warm feelings and good memories we all shared in this home. There is so much more to explore we need to go back and stay for a month! Working with the property owner was great. Janelle answered all emails and phone calls promptly and I am thankful for this family sharing their home. People often ask, "where do people from Hawaii go to vacation?" My answer now, Villa LV in Sonoma Town! Thank you for the experience!
Highly Recommended!!

Every year we rent a property in Sonoma with two other couples and everybody agreed this was the best one so far! The house has a warm, wine country feel and the pool and grounds are flat and spacious. I'm a bit reluctanct to let other vrbo"ers" in on this steal of a place and having it too booked to take us again, but the very nice owner and great property deserves an excellent review.

Had a wonderful time escaping the foggy city and relaxing poolside in the sunshine. Our active group was able to enjoy bike rides right out the front door, blackberry picking up the road, dinner parties easily prepared in the large, modern kitchen and enjoyed either outside on the deck, or at the huge dining table. Beds are amazingly comfy, ample towels for both the pool and showering, lovely walks to Sonoma's Best for morning coffee or afternoon wine tasting, visits to the local wineries, a lovely lawn for my dog to relax in the shade. It was a great visit, and the house was our perfect home base!

This is a great place to stay with friends and/or family. The main house, art studio, and guest cottage give this property a really nice spacious compound feel. There is plenty of room to gather with your guests and also have some space to yourself. The pool is beautiful and was a real focal point for our stay. The kitchen and dining area are nicely finished and served us well. It was really nice to be able to bike into town and to some of the nearby wineries. The house is really close to several of excellent wineries. We will definitely be back.
